For example, if your PAN number is ABCDE1234F and the assessment year is 2022-23, you can send an SMS in the following format: "ITRSTATUS ABCDE1234F 2022-23". You will receive a response with the status of your ITR.


Check status via email

Another way to track the status of your ITR is to send an email to the Income Tax Department at '[email protected].' The email should contain your PAN number and the assessment year for which you filed your ITR. You will receive a response from the Income Tax Department with the status of your ITR.


Check status by calling the helpline

You can also check the status of your ITR by calling the Income Tax Department's helpline at 1800 180 1961. You will need to provide your PAN number and other details to the customer care executive, who will provide you with the status of your ITR.
